TORONTO (January 8, 2025) – Calling all home bakers! Proper Television today announces its cross-country casting tour for the ninth season of THE GREAT CANADIAN BAKING SHOW (CBC), in addition to virtual casting. The open call events will be held in Toronto, Ont.; Saskatoon, Sask.; Vancouver, B.C.; and St. John’s, N.L. All talented home bakers are invited to bring their best baked creations for consideration.

This year marks the first-ever casting event for the series in Saskatchewan, and the first open-call events ever for the series in Ontario and Newfoundland.

Local bakers in each of the four regions are asked to register their attendance at the Eventbrite links below. Attendees should bring one home-baked item that will show off their design skills, techniques, and flavours. This item will be presented to THE GREAT CANADIAN BAKING SHOW casting team for tasting.

While online casting remains available for those who are not able to attend in person, the open call offers another chance to impress the casting team, plus the opportunity to meet bakers from previous seasons on site.
